  1. Hi Cathy,

I'm Leslie and I'm reading your blog having just finished my dinner here in Canada, on the other side of the world. You're just waking up and I'm having dinner - what an amazing world we live in!

Your choice of things to get rid of in a sink sounds just right to me. Actually, friends of ours have just such a sink in their kitchen. It's called a garburator. It allows you to put any unwanted foods into the drain of the sink. It then crushes the foodstuff into small shreds that can be flushed away. Isn't that something?

I like to be careful about extra food in the kitchen - I don't want to attract mice or ants so I'm usually very watchful of how long we've held onto any leftovers. We use a composter in our yard that naturally breaks down fruit and vegetable waste so that we can get rich compost for our garden. Any other foods I'm quick to throw out. Perhaps your mom and dad do the same.

I hope you're eating lots of yummy, healthy food this summer. There must be some wonderful strawberries and other fresh fruits available now that you're in the growing season. Hopefully very little of your food has to be thrown away!

Good work on these activities! I'll keep on reading your blog!

    Cheers,

    Leslie
