A Big Family

Day 3 Activity 1:               A Big Family

I don't know if I would want to be in such a big family because there are good and bad things that can happen. I know that because I am the only child in my family but this year one of my cousins are living with me.

Good:

  1. You will never be bored
  2. There will always be someone that can help you
  3. You will always have someone to play with.

 Bad:

  1. It would be really hard for your parents to get food, water, and other things for 7-9 children and 2 parents. I will be very expensive.
  2. It will be hard finding a house that can fit 7-9 kids and 2 adults.
  3. It will be hard for the parents to take care of the kids and still do house work and job work.

  1. kia Ora Cathy,

My name is Toeumu and i am a student in room 3 at Wesley Primary School.

WOW! Nice reason for why you would and why you wouldn't want a big family. Maybe next time you could add a picture to make it more interesting. This reminds me that i am in a big family, i have 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Good luck on your tasks over the summer/ school holidays.

Are you in a big family?

    Have a magnificent day,
    Toeumu

    1. Hey Toeumu,

Wow, I can't believe you have 7 siblings, that is incredible. What is your favourite thing about being in such a large family. I only have one other sibling so my whare must be extremely quite compared to yours. I would love to hear some of your stories.

Keep up the awesome comments, you are doing an incredible job interacting with students from other schools.

      Have a lovely day,
      Megan :)

  2. Hey Cathy,

I completely agree with you. It would be both amazing but difficult living in such a big family. It would definitely be hard to find a house that will fit everyone but I don't think you would have the luxury of having your own room. In a big family with 9 people there would be high chance that the children would have to share rooms. As an only child, do you have your own room?

We are very similar in a way, as I was growing up I was an only child so had the luxury of gaining my parents full attention. When I was 10 I was blessed with a little sister and I had a hard time sharing my parents love with someone else. I couldn't imagine sharing my parents love with 7 other siblings. If seven siblings would appear on your doorstep tomorrow what would you miss about being an only child?

We only have two more days of the Summer Learning Journey. The programme finishes on Friday the 26th January. This is plenty of time for you to complete a few more activities. Keep up the awesome work and I will keep an eye out for more of you posts.

I hope you have a magnificent day,
    Megan
