Reyna, Meron, AJ, and Cathy - Moment in Time Shared Writing Hangi

This is my moment in time writing that I did with my group. First we all made one individual one and then we made a collaborative verizon with my group! This is the writing:

By Reyna, Meron, Aj, and Cathy!

Cathy
In this picture it was a sunny day and there were a group of school
kids and two adults. They could feel the little breeze hitting their
skin. The kids were wearing blue and dark blue tops and a little
dark blue or blue skirt.

One of the adults was a lady, and she was wearing a white
dress and the other adult was a man wearing black pants,
grey boots, and a blue t - shirt with white writing on it.
He also was wearing a hat.

They were all looking at some strong people laying the
try down into a pit. The kids and the two adults were
observing the people preparing the hangi. In the
background they could see trees, other people and
a car. The car was a greyish colour.

On the tray I see lots of food covered in foil, so it
does not get dirty and also so it can cook better
too! I think in this hangi  they are cooking foods
like kumara, taro, pudding, fish, meat, and lots of
other foods too!

Because the tray had so much food in it they had
to have lots of people helping. I can see a lady
and six men helping prepare the hangi. In the pit
I can see lots of green leaves. There are also
green leaves at the bottom of the tray.
Well done
Cathy, I love
how you have
used
descriptive
language in your work
and how
you have
described
the background.
I really enjoyed
how you made
your work
very detailed
and how you
have explained
what you see
in the image
very clearly.
One thing to
work on next
time would be
to choose your
spelling carefully
but apart from
that great job!

Nice work
Cathy I like
how you have
explained
how it like to
have a hangi.
You did a great
job describing
what you have
seen in the
picture.
Overall you
did good from
Reyna.

Good job
cathy I really
like the word
you used keep
up the good work.

Collaborative Version
The HANGI!

On a cloudy grey day there were a bunch of men holding a crate with wrapped up food. I think that the hangi was at a school because in the background you can see students in uniform. One of the adults was a lady, and she was wearing a white dress and the other adult was a man wearing black pants, grey boots, and a blue t - shirt with white writing on it. He was also wearing a hat. The 7 men are placing the crate of food down in a pit and are preparing the hangi. There is a pile of hot rocks and coal on the side which is used to heat up the food.

In the crate they must have put in taro, kumara, bread and pumpkin. On the side of the man in the white and black pants there is a pile of rocks to put over the food when setting the food on fire.

They were all looking at some strong people laying the tray down into a pit. The kids and the two adults were observing the people preparing the hangi. In the atmosphere, there are streaks of smoke coming from the hot pit that make the area look quite like Rotorua. Some of the men who are holding the heavy crate, are wearing gloves to protect their hands from getting burnt.

After a few hours the hangi was cooked. The food is in a big tray and underneath the food in the tray you can see there are taro leaves. The tray had so much food in it they had to have lots of people helping. There might be a burning ash smell and some smoke in the air which is why some of the men are covering their faces with a t-shirt.

Did you guys just copy and paste it from our independent one?
We all copied some of our writing from all our individual ones and put it all together!

CTK Prayer - Cathy

This is a prayer I made in Room 1:

Almighty Father,

Thank you for our wonderful environment you have given us at this school, we have
a mary garden dedicated to one of the teachers that have passed away, the library with
lots of books help us learn more, and our wonderful and colourful classrooms. And
most of all the loving teachers and staff members for putting so much time and effort
into teaching us!

Amen. / Let Us Pray!

Bio Poem - Catherine #2

In R1 we have been working on our Bio Poems! These poems are all about us. This is the Bio Poem I made:

Catherine

A girl with love and kindness in her heart.
Cheerful, friendly and respectful to all.

Daughter of the loving Jaison and Leni.

Who loves
cute animals and doing art,
spending time with family and friends, and watching animated movies and swimming.

Who hates
Bugs like cockroaches, people being mean to her,
And  loved ones getting hurt.

Who dreams of
Snorkeling in the blue sea, flying with the birds,
and her Grandpa getting his memory back and coming
back to earth from heaven!

Who fears of
Being alone, loved ones dying,
and disgusting bugs like spiders and crockches being near her.

Who would like to see
Paris the land of love, the blue waters of Hawaii,
and all the Seven Wonders of the World.

Who is determined to
Be a fashion designer or artist,
And to have a cute little kitten and puppy.

Who values
Her dark brown eyes, curly black hair,
And the friendships she has made.

Who is proud of
Her Grandma for being brave when Grandpa was in hospital.
For her Dad making the right choices and
her unique accent

Who lives in
Mt. Roskill, Auckland,
New Zealand.
