Waka Ama 🛶

For The Summer Learning Journey Day 1 Bonus Activity:

Waka Ama looks like a really fun sport. But I don't think I would really want to be in a Waka Ama race because it looks like a lot of fun but at the same time it looks really hard and I think you would need to be pretty strong to be in a Waka Ama team. This I why I wouldn't like to be in a Waka Ama team.

Setting Sail 💌

For The Summer Literacy Challenge on Day 1 Activity 2 I am setting sail to another country so I wrote a letter to my friend telling her/him how I feel.

This is what I wrote:

Dear friend

I am moving to another country, I will miss you so much. I feel very sad because I'm going to miss you. I also feel nervous and a bit happy because I know I'll meet new people there. Well I hope I see you again.

Your Dear Friend Cathy

Three Facts About Maui

On Day 1 of the Summer Literacy Challenge I learned three new things about Maui.
They are:

  • Maui is a kind and generous person, he is not greedy.
  • Maui is a person who never gives up.
  • Maui is not like his greedy brothers.
I have heard other stories about Maui, like Maui and the sun.

Japan

I chose Japan for my first practice activity for the summer learning program.
My reasons are:

  • Japan has over 30,000 cherry blossom trees in Sakura a famous viewing spot in Japan and has been for hundreds of years.

  • There are 16 national holidays in Japan.

These are my reasons. This is why I would love to go to japan.
